Tale of Two Continents

Istanbul! Lets see if I can sum up the place for you...

1.Belly Dancing... (saw the costumes, din see the bellies...)
2.Apple Tea
3.Teeth Ruining Achingly Sweet Desserts (Turkish Delight is not so delightful afterall...)
4.Good Food. *yum* :P

Other than the fact that I witnessed a snatch theft, argued with a taxi driver who tried to con us poor girls, and was pestered to near insanity by the stall holders at the bazaars... it was a pretty nice place :) Heh...

Okok.. the important bit.. photos!

The Blue Mosque

Really lovely.. had this real "awe inspiring" feeling when you gaze at the mosque from afar... very nice.

It was really quite funny because we girls were so trigger happy with our cameras that it took us forever just to reach the entrance of the mosque... It was literally a minute to closing time when we finally reached the mosque. *sheepish grin*

Grand Bazaar & Spice Bazaar... Totally Bizarre

The Grand Bazaar - Alittle too touristy and prices were stee-ep. Felt so harassed by the shopowners.. their typical sentence would start with, "Lady? LADY?! Where you from? Japan? Korea? Thailand?!!"

...

So anyway, we were quite dissapointed with "The Grand Bazaar Experience" and decided to drop by the Spice Bazaar instead. Much better... not so much tourist nonsense but still lots of "Lady? LADY?!" Ugh.

Above are pics of the Grand Bazaar. Below are those of the Spice Bazaar.

Turkish Viagra anyone? (If you can't see the small words in the pic, it says "5 Times in the Night." Amazing.)

Food Glorious Food!

I swear... Im still thinking about the fantastic food till this day... Mm Mm Mmmmm...

Steamed mussels with flavoured rice - steamed IN the mussel. SUPER GOOD! *salivate*

Deep fried oysters with batter *drool*

Baklava dessert... super sweet. But still good.

*sigh*

Ok! Tats all folks! I'm off to Perth tomorrow...

Till my next trigger happy trip.

(I must say.... i do wish i brought home some of that Turkish Viagra to experiment with...Damn.)

Lots of canals in Amsterdam.... the lucky Dutch just jump into their boats and go for a boat ride whenever they feel like it... I'm like... sooooo jealous.

Picture Perfect Or Wat?!

I swear... these are not scanned/downloaded postcards okay?

AngMoh Chah Kiak! ;p

The Infamous Amsterdam Red Light District *gyrate gyrate*

'nuff said.

I Love Their Sense of Humor...

I swear... you have to love the Dutch when you see rows and rows of these phallic road divders all over town...

Okay... im tired. This blogging thing is hard work. I will do pics of Istanbul another day.

Humble Beginnings

I finally decided to start a blog.. to which my dearest boyfriend announced, "So free ah?".

Talk about encouragement..... humph.

Yes! So now I am no longer a blog virgin! Hopefully i don't end up a blog slut..

Aiyah... dunno wat to talk about.. My life also not so happening... cheah.

Let's see.. the last interesting place I went to was Istanbul... Im flying off to Perth next. (I have it on good authority that Perth is very boring... I guess I shall find out for myself ;p)

Okok... I will leave you guys with this photo of Istanbul.. One side is Asia, and the other is Europe, and this was the view from my hotel room. Imagine having a view of two continents...

Cool or waaat? hehehe... :)
