I Ain't Got No Louvre

As usual.. I HAVE NO LUCK.

I was so happy that I was rostered a Paris and I told everyone, “This time I’m gonna make it to the Louvre!”

The last time I was in Paris was two years ago and I didn’t manage to go to the Louvre coz I was dragged away by my shopping crazy colleagues.

Ok, Fine. I’m shopping crazy too. But I have my priorities…k? ;p

So, on my first day in Paris - a Monday, I accompanied my colleague, Elaine, to take a walk down Des Champ Elysees. I went to the Fnac store to get my advance ticket to the Louvre for the next day.. and what did I find out? That the Louvre is closed EVERY FUCKING TUESDAY!

WARRRGHHH!!! *stomp feet* *throw chair* *throw table* *pout*

Sigh.

I think it’s just Me.

So I decided to go sightseeing. I didn’t want to spend my WHOLE day at the LV store (which most of the girls planned to do), so I hopped on the open top Red Bus (Les Cars Rouges) and went sightseeing!

You would think it would be a warm Parisian Summer, but I almost froze my face off sitting atop that open top bus. After tahan-ing for one SOLID hour, my red, frozen nose dictated me to sit below stairs in the enclosed area.

Nevertheless, it was fun. And I hadn’t been out sighteeing alone in quite awhile. I always liked exploring on my own. :)

Paris is always grand, and the beauty of Madame Eiffel never fails to make me smile. But I felt alittle sad too, coz I really wished Jem was there to share the moments with me. I know he would have loved it.

Promise me we will go somewhere nice together soon okie?

Paree!

The Arc De Triomphe!

View from the top of the Arc, my second time climbing up... and it was just as tough as the first!

Those treacherous, winding steps! It was truly exhausting and terrifyingly giddy.

Des Champs Elysees. At that crossing junction where everybody snaps photos. hehe..

RATATOOOEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Such a cute fat rat. *squeeze*

Sitting atop the Red Bus! *whee* So exciting :)

The Grand Old Lady. *heart thump*

So many grand, beautiful buildings! I cant remember all the names honestly...

The Notre Dame. *waves to Quasimodo* ;)

Academie National De Musique - Grand both inside and out. A place I decided to visit... Why? Coz barely anyone goes there. hahahaha.... Gotta get off the beaten track once in a while mah... ;p

The Ritz Hotel - Paris' most exclusive hotel, and Princess Diana's last dining place before she got into that fateful last car ride.

You know what I discovered about myself? That I actually read French better than I read Chinese. I actually could figure out most of the stuff featured in the menus (No pictures of food to help ok!!!) so I was the one translating it to my colleague. If you gave me a menu all written in Chinese... I think I will die first.
.
I think I'm strange.
