Simple Friends vs. Real Friends

I was showering when I got home from Shanghai today, and I looked at my medicine cabinet with its missing glass mirror door... and recalled how it came to be so...

(flashback)

It happened over two years ago, I was rushing to meet Angie and Tiff and was having a quick shower...

I THINK i dropped my shampoo bottle and bent down to pick up the bottle, forgetting that I had left the door of the cabinet open. So you can imagine, as I was standing up.......

BAM!

My head hit the door with such an impact that the door came off its hinges and crashed onto my bathroom floor.

Yess.. I know. Im a klutz.

So I was stunned and in shock.

I was dizzy from the impact and in shock from being cut all over my legs from the broken glass.

I stumbled out of the shower and the first thing i could think of was to call Angie.

She picked up the phone.. and i burst into tears.

As in BIG, Wracking, Sobs.

I think I totally scared her. ;p

She told me to stay put, stay out of the bathroom and that she would be over ASAP with Tiffany to help clean up the glass. I was like "Nononono... don't come..."

She insisted.. and before I knew it, She and Tiff were banging on my door.

And best of all, bearing my favourite cup of Bubble Tea to cheer me up.

Now these are Real Friends.

So I stood in my shower.. standing under the running water thinking of my friends... and recalled Ron's email...

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself
(and doesn't feel even the least bit weird shutting your 'beer drawer' with his foot!)

A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend has shoulder soggy from your tears.

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.
A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after they've gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it.

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.
A real friend calls you after you had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!

I HAVE REAL FRIENDS. LOVE YOU ALL. *HUGS*
